Ghana Stock Exchange Warns Public Against Fraudulent Investment Schemes

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has issued a public warning urging investors to remain vigilant against fraudulent investment solicitations circulating on social media platforms, including WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. According to the Exchange, scammers are falsely claiming to represent the GSE and enticing individuals to join investment groups with promises of exceptionally high returns in a short period.

The GSE has clarified that it has not authorized any individual, group, or organization to make such representations on its behalf. It also emphasized that it does not endorse investment schemes that guarantee returns, reminding investors that all investments carry varying degrees of risk.

To protect themselves, investors are encouraged to:

Be cautious of unsolicited investment offers promising quick or guaranteed profits.

Verify investment opportunities through the Ghana Stock Exchange's official communication channels.

Only seek investment advice and trade through licensed dealing members and other duly licensed capital market operators.

The Exchange reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent and secure capital market and encouraged the public to report suspicious investment solicitations. Investors can verify information through the GSE's official website and contact channels before making any investment decisions.

Investor Reminder: If an investment opportunity promises unusually high or guaranteed returns while claiming to represent the Ghana Stock Exchange, verify it through official GSE channels before committing any funds.
