Opoku-Gyamfi Boateng ("Boat")-Executive Chairman

Boat is the Executive Chairman of Capstone Capital Limited. Boat is currently the Chairman of both uniBank Ghana Limited and StarLife Assurance Company Limited. He has served in a number of capacities including a member of the Steering Committee of the Municipal Finance and Management Initiative of the Government of Ghana, a Negotiating Consultant for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Boat started his career at Databank as a Financial Analyst and by dint of hard-work and professionalism, rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director before resigning to set up Capstone.

Boat has acquired rich experience in both the capital and money markets locally and abroad, specialising in corporate finance and advisory services to the following sectors: construction finance, mortgage, manufacturing, mining, financial sector, telecommunication, broadcasting financing, He has also developed requisite expertise in varied and diverse projects including financial restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, valuations, financial re-engineering, project analysis and evaluation, initial public offerings (IPOs), privatisations and bond structuring.

Boat has also undertaken a number of transactions in some African countries including:

  • Privatisation of Uganda Telecom in Uganda.
  • Bond structuring assignment in Rwanda,
  • Feasibility study for a financial institution in The Gambia
  • Fund raising assignment in Kenya and Tanzania
  • Information Memorandum to raise funds for an oil and gas project in Nigeria.

Boat holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Ghana. He worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Ghana and also worked as a trainee accountant at Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), a firm of Chartered Accountants.

Oladimeji Adedara-Chief Executive Officer

Ola was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Capstone in December 2012. As CEO, he is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Capstone. Ola is a professional chartered accountant, investment banker and educationist.

Prior to joining Capstone, he has more than twenty (20) years professional working knowledge in Finance, Credit, Money market operations and capital market activities. Ola was an Executive Director of Finance and Administration (later Finance and Treasury) of Databank Group overseeing the Finance and Treasury functions of Databank operations both within and outside Ghana. He supervised the Accounts of twelve (12) companies within the group.

He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He holds B. Sc degree in Banking and Finance from Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University), Ado Ekiti, Nigeria.

He is a Director of Landmark Micro-finance Limited and Christ Legacy International School, both in Ghana.

Frank Tawiah – Non-Executive Director

Frank is a non-executive Director of Capstone Capital limited. He is the CEO of Core Afrique Investment Limited, an Investment Advisory &Consultancy, and the Chairman of Spintex Inn, a boutique hotel in Accra, Ghana. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of CFA Institute. He holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University, in Canada. He received a Life Insurance License from the Ontario Insurance Commission, Canada, in 1991, and a Canadian Securities Course Certification (Honours) from the Canadian Securities Institute in 1992. Frank is a Financial/ Investment Analyst and advisor to Promoters of Project Finance and Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in Ghana. He has performed due diligence and carried out Investment Valuation on numerous projects in the Extractive (Timber), Infrastructure, Telecommunication, Financial Services and Hospitality Industries in Ghana. Notably he carried out valuation of some unlisted equity investment for SSNIT, the Ghanaian public pension fund. He has developed business plans for several corporate entities in Ghana, including clients of the Africa Project Development Fund, a former division of the World Bank’s IFC.
 
Frank serves as a Non-executive director of a number of SME’s in the Renewable Energy, Financial Services, Oil Marketing, Hospitality, Haulage and Real Estate industries in Ghana. He is a former instructor of the Ghana Stock Exchange Securities Course Programme and an adjunct lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He has a high working proficiency in French.

Philip Asare

Philip has spent over 17 years as a practitioner and regulator in the banking and the microfinance industry in Ghana. Working with the Banking Supervision Department of Bank of Ghana, Philip spent considerable time in the rural banking and the rural financial services industry desk. He worked with several multilateral agencies to execute projects in Ghana. Starting as a Chief Internal Auditor of Opportunity International Savings and Loans Limited, Philip rose to become the Deputy CEO and later acting CEO. He also held roles as CFO and COO in the same institution. Philip brings on board a rare experience from both industry and banking regulations.

Philip also worked as the Chief Risk Officer with Access Bank, Ghana, and was a key member of the Merger Steering Committee of Access Bank and the Inter-Continental Bank, where he led the Risk Management Work-Stream.

Philip has been involved in bank liquidations and mergers in various capacities. Until recently, Philip was the Country Manager of Wholesale Microfinance Fund, a fund created by the German Development Fund, KfW and managed by Cyrano Ghana Limited.

Philip holds an MBA from the University of Ghana and BA (Economics and Accounting) from the same university. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
